Rebranding the Goddess in You

  • What happened to your goddess brand?
  • Have you misplaced your tiara?
  • Did you allow your brand to get watered down and lost the “glow” for which you were known?

You can become a shining example of hard work, perseverance, and a make-it-happen kind of brand again by getting back on the “brandwagon.” Personal branding is one of the sharpest career management tools you can have in your tool box to be prepared for any type of exciting opportunity that is a match for your brand.

Creating Your Ideal Day

One of my success principals is getting to the reality that for me work-life balance is simply unattainable. Can there really be an equal balance of activities if we laid them out on a scale? I don’t think so…  What works best for me is to design a blended life—finding time to do what I need to do now in the present and not wait for the future, whether that be tomorrow or three years from now.

Identifying early on that there is more to life than having a primary focus on career building, I was always trying to fit in fun, family commitments, travel to client meetings, coordinating a robust social calendar, and “me time” wherever I could. I noticed the things at the core of my happiness would tend to get back-burnered. Do you recognize yourself in this?

Before we can eliminate our blemishes, however, we need to be honest with ourselves about what they are. Face it, when we are at the top of our game, people will often tell us what they think we want to hear, rather than what we really need to hear. Personally, I like to call it as I see it—it might as well be a big red sore on your face…it’s a blemish!

Here are a few examples of personal brand blemishes:

Outsourcing your Goddess Life

Making conscious choices to have a more blended lifestyle (personally & professionally) allows us the time and luxury to really work on taking our personal brands to the next level and do what we do best. Contrary to what we think, goddesses cannot do it all. So, carve out time to create what you want by making outsourcing a high priority.

One of my keys to having a Goddess Brand is creating best practices that work for your life while indirectly having a positive impact on others. It is important to outsource the things that are not a match for your personal brand or that are not related to your strengths. When I am making a conscious choice, I always ask myself, “Is this decision moving my personal brand forward or further away from creating the brand I know I am and can be?”
