One of my success principals is getting to the reality that for me work-life balance is simply unattainable. Can there really be an equal balance of activities if we laid them out on a scale? I don’t think so… What works best for me is to design a blended life—finding time to do what I need to do now in the present and not wait for the future, whether that be tomorrow or three years from now.
Identifying early on that there is more to life than having a primary focus on career building, I was always trying to fit in fun, family commitments, travel to client meetings, coordinating a robust social calendar, and “me time” wherever I could. I noticed the things at the core of my happiness would tend to get back-burnered. Do you recognize yourself in this?
